Mobile devices are pervasive and an integral part of social rituals and
routines. They are now an ubiquitous presence in both public and private places. This symposium directly addresses contemporary urban experience that investigate the design potentials, constraints and complexities of our engagement with technology in the urban environment.

Thie Mobile Technology in the Urban Field Symposium addresses the following topics:

•  How does our use of mobile technology effect our occupation and
engagement with urban space?
•  How do we design for and within these conditions?
•  What are the possibilities (design, technological, experiential and
cultural) of Hertzian space for designing the spatial and temporal
features of urban space?
•  How does our use of legacy technologies and retrofitting effect our
occupation of urban space?
•  How does personalised infrastructures or mobile devices shift our
engagement with urban space?

The Mobile Technology in the Urban Field Symposium will be held on Monday 15th February 2010 from 9am - 4pm at:
